Inseparable with Ovaha's Hut

After living in Malawi for 17 months, a move was in order. One of the toughest parts of leaving Malawi was leaving Ovaha founder and my very best friend, Lawrence. We became very close over the time that I lived in Malawi – sharing everything from meals to advice to life stories. We were inseparable at our day job and were often together outside of the hospital. Before leaving, we made a final trip to the site of Ovaha. Construction is still underway but things look very different than the first visit. The elders are incredibly grateful and took time to speak with Lawrence about current and future needs. The ability to help the site is completely dependent on donations and awareness. Change gradual and it takes time. But change also takes belief.

Just because I’m in another country doesn’t mean the support will stop. I am just as passionate about Ovaha because of the people. Caring and compassionate. The kids are welcoming and curious. I back Lawrence with this project 100%, whether I’m in Malawi, Uganda or the United States. It only takes a visit to understand the reason for pouring time, money and sacrifice into the project. I want Lawrence’s hard work and dedication to be displayed for all involved. There’s a long way to go and it’s uphill, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try.

Not many people would spend much of their free time to build up their birthplace. But this is exactly what Lawrence is trying to do. He can’t do it alone and I’m thankful for his heart. I miss Lawrence and the people of Ovaha, but I’m excited for the future.

Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) Youths

Even though its been long to bring out this post, I have found that its very necessary to put it out for the best of our friends and all the well wishers. It was some months ago at church someone from my church heard about the development that is happening in the community where am coming from, he asked me how do i do that and where do we find support from, the answers was just straight, i said its survival by Grace, the answer came up like that because there is no one apart from us the owner of the community who is supporting the development, the little we get the little we share. That's why we are called Ovaha meaning giving .

The youths of excellency
This someone went and discuss with his friends about the Ovaha's Hut developments and him with the friends teamed up to help us with a lot of assorted items like soap, sugar, clothes, shoes, salt and many other basic needs, everyone who attended the function on this day went home with a good heavy packages. regardless of the register we have of all kids and the elderly people, we had more to share with the other close by villages.

These young people came from the church in the city of Blantyre all the way to Mulanje District about 37.5 miles journey and they call themselves THE YOUTHS OF EXCELLENCE, the church they came from is called Enlightened Christian Gathering Church and the founder of the church is Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. And according to these youths they said the founder of the church is good at giving, so them too are following the same route of giving the little they have to the needy around them and all areas they can reach.

Community Development at Heart

Happy New Year to you all our friends. As Ovaha's we are very glad to show you our developments and its out wish to see all our plans have come to pass. We want to make sure that children and all elderly people in our communty are being taken good of, regardless of how the age is. In our village we have a woman and her 3 grand children who have been staying in very small  house about the size of bathroom for more than 7 years, she has been in the house together with all her belongings. Currently Ovaha's Hut is building a beautiful house for her and the grand children. The kids who are staying with this old woman what happened was that the mother died 5 years ago and the father dissapeared  after the death of the wife, the search was conducted but nobody could find the father to the kids until now. Ovaha's Hut wants to thank all the friends who has made this possible, you are all shinning stars forever and its our hope that you will still partner with us for a good course of developing the needy in Muloza, Mulanje.

We are looking for these two machines for Our Community

After a long distance that people have been taking going to the Maize Mill, Ovaha's Hut we have put in plans to get people who can assist us by buying the Milling machines that uses diesel so that the village cannot take a long distance to walk and pay a lot of money. Apart from a long distance when the electricity is off (black out) many people in the village finds it difficult to grind their maize, thats why we choose the diesel engine that can function at any time.. When the Maize Mills are planted it will be also part of Income generating activity that will help to finance for other things at Ovaha's Hut.

Your support will be appreciated and will change many in the Village where Ovaha's Hut is based and other villages around.

We want to put a big smile to these elderly nomatter what
