Lawrence Matembezi Ngwemba

I  was born in the 80's in the month of April.  My mother was very young when I was born, I grew up in the village experiencing pain as an underprivileged kid and also witnessed the hardships of the elderly. This upbringing had a profound effect on me and fuels the desire to develop and manage the nursery school and elderly shelter.

After dwelling among the village, I went to school where I did not do much because my mother could not afford to send me to school as my father passed away when I was only 2 years old,  I don't even know him also he did not like taking photos that I could see.

I started Ovaha's Hut to help develop my community with the little we have and for other villages to learn from us. I don't want other underprivileged kids to face the same hardships I did and I hope Ovaha's Hut can provide opportunities for children and youth in the community and help the elderly.

Volunteers

Tara Anderson

Tara  is from the United States and lived in Malawi from 2011 - 2012. She helped get Ovaha's Hut off the ground and garnered lots of support from her home church.  Her church sent lots of learning materials for the nursery school.  She is still active raising support and informing others of Ovaha's mission.  She is back in the U.S. but we hope to see her back in Malawi soon.

Tara is referred to as the daughter of Ovaha's Hut
