Sudan- #Stop execution of a pregnant woman!!!!!!!

Ovaha's Hut believes in respecting human rights to all parts of the world and no man is great than  the rights of people, we write this to ask Sudan as a nation to free Meriam, she did not commit any crime by using her power of choice and we as Ovaha's Hut we don't support that ugly act of killing the innocent Meriam or any other person.
A 27-year-old Meriam Yehya Ibrahim is heavily pregnant. When she appeared before the courtroom in Khartoum, Sudan’s capital city, on 15 May and refused to renounce her Christian religion, the judges sentenced to death by hanging for ‘apostasy’. She has also been sentenced to 100 lashes for being married to a Christian man. Meriam has committed no crime. She is a prisoner of conscience and should be released immediately.
Now, Meriam is being held in detention with her 20-month-old son. She is expecting her second child next month. She needs medical care and the support of her family, but if her conditions don’t change she will give birth in prison.Sudan won't hang Meriam while she is pregnant. The Criminal Code states that she must give birth first, and nurse her child for two years before her execution can go ahead. If Sudan does execute Meriam after this period, they will leave two young children motherless, as well as taking away Meriam's right to life. No date for her execution has yet been announced.
Sudan follows Sharia (Islamic) law in its Criminal Code, and ‘apostasy’ (Riddah, in Arabic) is punishable by death. Apostasy is the renouncing of Islamic religion, either by refusing to follow Islam, or through being a believer of an alternative religion. Those charged with apostasy have three days to renounce their religion and follow Islam. Meriam first appeared before the court in Khartoum on 11 May. When, on 15 May, she refused to renounce her Christian faith, her death sentence was confirmed. Meriam was first arrested in August last year because her husband is Christian. Under Sudan’s Sharia law, marriage between a Muslim woman and a non-Muslim man is illegal, and constitutes adultery.
One of her relatives had claimed that Meriam was committing ‘adultery’ for marrying outside of Islam, and reported her to authorities. But Meriam identifies as Christian – while her father is Muslim, he was absent during her childhood and she was raised Orthodox Christian by her mother. On 15 May, the court ruled that the allegations of ‘adultery’ stood, and agreed that Meriam should face 100 lashes for being married to a Christian.
Ovaha's Hut believes that its only God who will judges humanity not a man judging another man in position of God.... #free free free Meriam.

Another Day for a Big change in Malawi

Ovaha's Hut is a family as we are a family based and raised in Malawi, we have a say in the matters of our country as citizens, Now we wish Malawi and Malawians a happy day for a change in politics and we pray for free and fair election for the benefit of the nation. Here is a little something about Malawi.
Malawi, is a land locked country in southeast Africa that was formerly known as Nyasaland. It is bordered by Zambia to the northwest, Tanzania to the northeast, and Mocambique on the east, south and west. The country is separated from Tanzania and Mozambique by Lake Malawi is over 118,000 km2 (45,560 sq mi) with an estimated population of 16,777,547. Its capital is Lilongwe, which is also Malawi's largest city; the second largest is Blantyre and the third is Mzuzu. The name Malawi comes from the Maravi, an old name of the Nyanja people that inhabit the area. The country is also nicknamed "The Warm Heart of Africa.
Malawi is among the world's least developing countries, The economy is heavily based in agriculture, with a largely rural population. The Malawian government depends heavily on outside aid to meet development needs, although this need (and the aid offered) has decreased since 2000. The Malawian government faces challenges in building and expanding the economy, improving education, health care, environmental protection and becoming financially independent. Malawi has several programs developed since 2005 that focus on these issues, and the country's outlook appears to be improving, with improvements in economic growth, education and healthcare seen in 2007 and 2008.
Malawi has a low life expectancy and high infant mortality. There is a high prevalence of HIV/AIDS which is a drain on the labour force and government expenditures. There is a diverse population of native people, Asians and Europeans, with several languages spoken and an array of religious beliefs. In 2013 this country Malawi there was about 15 million plus people with about more than 35 political parties but after scrutinizing its only 12 political parties with great leader of great manifestos to raise the living standard of people, which have been allowed to contest in Malawi General Tripartite Election. And the day its tomorrow the 20th May 2014, Malawians will choose a new leader, members of parliament (MP) and councillors, its a very first thing to happen in Malawi ever since Malawi got independence in 1964.
Ovaha's Hut wishes you all good and its our sincere hope that the elections will free and fair, out message to the new elects make sure to do what you have promised the nation of Malawi in your manifestos, you know where this country is coming from and remember those who are in the village, those who are poor, the widows and widowers, women and children and those born with physical disabilities because they are all the CITIZEN of Malawi, the warm heart of Africa.

One Library on Fire

Ovaha's Hut is one of the leading charity organizations in Malawi, Ovaha's Hut has two sections and other two yet to be set soon. The sections are Ovaha Elderly Shelter and Ovaha Nursery  School. The nursery school educate underprivileged kids for free and support them in other basic needs.

Ovaha Elderly Shelter its another section that supports elderly people in the same community where the nursery school is based. At Ovaha's Hut we regard elderly people as a Library of the past living today.

Ovaha's Hut is here to report to you all our partners and friends that we have lost this woman at the elderly section after battling with sickness for more than a month. She left two grand children whom she was taking care of, keep us in prayers and support for the well being of the kids left. When we loose an elder person in our community is the same as seeing a Library burning because old people keeps the great informations of the past in the present times.

We thank all of you friends for your great support, we will update you more as we go along.

Inseparable with Ovaha's Hut

After living in Malawi for 17 months, a move was in order. One of the toughest parts of leaving Malawi was leaving Ovaha founder and my very best friend, Lawrence. We became very close over the time that I lived in Malawi – sharing everything from meals to advice to life stories. We were inseparable at our day job and were often together outside of the hospital. Before leaving, we made a final trip to the site of Ovaha. Construction is still underway but things look very different than the first visit. The elders are incredibly grateful and took time to speak with Lawrence about current and future needs. The ability to help the site is completely dependent on donations and awareness. Change gradual and it takes time. But change also takes belief.

Just because I’m in another country doesn’t mean the support will stop. I am just as passionate about Ovaha because of the people. Caring and compassionate. The kids are welcoming and curious. I back Lawrence with this project 100%, whether I’m in Malawi, Uganda or the United States. It only takes a visit to understand the reason for pouring time, money and sacrifice into the project. I want Lawrence’s hard work and dedication to be displayed for all involved. There’s a long way to go and it’s uphill, but that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t try.

Not many people would spend much of their free time to build up their birthplace. But this is exactly what Lawrence is trying to do. He can’t do it alone and I’m thankful for his heart. I miss Lawrence and the people of Ovaha, but I’m excited for the future.

Enlightened Christian Gathering Church (ECG) Youths

Even though its been long to bring out this post, I have found that its very necessary to put it out for the best of our friends and all the well wishers. It was some months ago at church someone from my church heard about the development that is happening in the community where am coming from, he asked me how do i do that and where do we find support from, the answers was just straight, i said its survival by Grace, the answer came up like that because there is no one apart from us the owner of the community who is supporting the development, the little we get the little we share. That's why we are called Ovaha meaning giving .

The youths of excellency
This someone went and discuss with his friends about the Ovaha's Hut developments and him with the friends teamed up to help us with a lot of assorted items like soap, sugar, clothes, shoes, salt and many other basic needs, everyone who attended the function on this day went home with a good heavy packages. regardless of the register we have of all kids and the elderly people, we had more to share with the other close by villages.

These young people came from the church in the city of Blantyre all the way to Mulanje District about 37.5 miles journey and they call themselves THE YOUTHS OF EXCELLENCE, the church they came from is called Enlightened Christian Gathering Church and the founder of the church is Prophet Shepherd Bushiri. And according to these youths they said the founder of the church is good at giving, so them too are following the same route of giving the little they have to the needy around them and all areas they can reach.

We had a very wonderful time and on the day we had Mark Allen Barret from USA and Nina Weyman from Germany our old good friends and partners, people really enjoyed, guys you are beautiful and we ask that this should not be the first time to visit us, May God bless you all.

Community Development at Heart

Happy New Year to you all our friends. As Ovaha's we are very glad to show you our developments and its out wish to see all our plans have come to pass. We want to make sure that children and all elderly people in our communty are being taken good of, regardless of how the age is. In our village we have a woman and her 3 grand children who have been staying in very small  house about the size of bathroom for more than 7 years, she has been in the house together with all her belongings. Currently Ovaha's Hut is building a beautiful house for her and the grand children. The kids who are staying with this old woman what happened was that the mother died 5 years ago and the father dissapeared  after the death of the wife, the search was conducted but nobody could find the father to the kids until now. Ovaha's Hut wants to thank all the friends who has made this possible, you are all shinning stars forever and its our hope that you will still partner with us for a good course of developing the needy in Muloza, Mulanje.

The Huts are ready and beautiful.

We are looking for these two machines for Our Community

After a long distance that people have been taking going to the Maize Mill, Ovaha's Hut we have put in plans to get people who can assist us by buying the Milling machines that uses diesel so that the village cannot take a long distance to walk and pay a lot of money. Apart from a long distance when the electricity is off (black out) many people in the village finds it difficult to grind their maize, thats why we choose the diesel engine that can function at any time.. When the Maize Mills are planted it will be also part of Income generating activity that will help to finance for other things at Ovaha's Hut.

Your support will be appreciated and will change many in the Village where Ovaha's Hut is based and other villages around.

We want to put a big smile to these elderly nomatter what
